Shady Hollow Water Message

Message from the City of Austin - February 18, 2021 Update - 2pm

"Austin Water's treatment plants are operating in a stable mode at this time, but we are facing significant challenges to restore water distribution throughout the system. The citywide boil water notice continues, and all customers are asked to boil water for drinking and cooking. Austin Water is working with the City's Emergency Operations Center to address the needs of critical customers, including hospitals and power plants. We do not have a timeline on when full service will be restored at this time. We know that some customers do not have water service and returning your service is our priority. Austin Water will provide additional updates as they become available."

To report a water or wastewater emergency, report a leak or main break, fill out the Leak Report Web Form at http://www.austintexas.gov/page/austin-water-issue-report-form

The Shady Hollow HOA and numerous residents have reported the "no water" or "low water pressure" issues to the City of Austin. They were notified of our issues beginning yesterday at 11AM. The City of Austin has prioritized their central water plant as the primary focus to enable them to provide the needed water for our hospitals and emergency resources. We may need to be patient and continue to work to support each other during this time as we wait for pipes to thaw, reservoirs to refill and pipe breaks to be fixed.

  • Please check on neighbors who do not have access to online resources to ensure they are safe.

  • Open cabinet doors under sinks adjacent to outside walls to help keep interior water pipes warm.

  • Should you have a water pipe burst - you will need to locate your main water valve and turn off your water. Each home has its own water shut off. The water meter valve is located near the street and is typically covered with a large, circular, metal cover. You may need a tool to reach down and turn the valve to shut off the water.
